With over a decade of photography experience, I founded PhotoEssence Photography as a space to showcase my work, collaborate creatively, and grow as a business owner. Alongside photography, I am a biologist and aspiring bioengineer, driven by a passion for using science to build a more sustainable economy and protect our environment. My photographic work spans macro, astrophotography, nature, landscape, street, and underwater imagery, capturing both the beauty of the natural world and the details often overlooked.

The scale of Photography
PhotoEssence Photography has 6 unique photo categories each specializing in a different type of photography. There are a multitude of types of photography. The common theme in these 6 categories is their perspective. It is important to understand which each perspective is. In fact, humans have a narrow field of vision and see things on the mesoscale. This is how you typically see things of a moderate scale. In my photography, you will see things on a number of different scales.
Underwater Photography
Photos that leave you breathless
Being able to travel and breathe underwater to see worlds unfamiliar and non-terrestrial gives you a feeling you will not experience anywhere else. There is so much life under the surface. Feeling weightless with a sense of calmness, peace, and wonder is what I hope to share in my photography.

Street Photography
Artificial and genuinely human
Street photography is more than the quiet commuter on the train or the woman selling wares. Street photography to me is the precarious blend of human artwork like buildings, bridges, machines and of people themselves. The focus is on the man-made or should I say man-unique.

Nature Photography
Question: What make Earth a unique planet?
Answer: Life
As a scientist, I see and study the incredible complexity of life within an organism and between organisms. We call this biology and the later, ecology. Species have existed and coevolved with other species and the physical environment, and have created vast connected networks that were developed over millions of years. My photography will show you a glimpse of this network as we see it today.

Astro Photography
A perspective beyond our atmosphere
Stars, planetary bodies, and the night sky are all a part of astronomical photography. Various atmospheric conditions influence the visibility of the cosmos such as light pollution, artificial bodies like satellites, and the molecular/atomic composition of the atmosphere. This requires an extreme amount of light capture of very distant objects kilometers to lightyears away.

Landscape Photography
A spectacular combination of land, sky, and/or ocean
Landscape photography requires traversing the planet to find breathtaking settings that bring a feeling of awe and grander to the viewer. This perspective also reminds the viewer that the Earth changes ever so subtly on a human timescale.

Macro Photography
Journey to the macroscopic world in detail you didn't know existed
Macrophotography is an extreme close-up and detailed view of something small. Humans typically do not perceive the world in this perspective of 1 to a 100th or 1 to a 1000th of size and magnification. This requires having an exceptionally wide and close view of the subject where gathering enough light is difficult.

In PhotoEssence³, I am bringing conventional 2-dimensional photography into 3 dimensions. This is where you EXPERIENCE PHOTOGRAPHY. In real life, we perceive and interact with things in 3 dimensions. Here I am developing virtual and augmented reality experiences. I am also introducing the Virtual Museum for everyone to see my photos in their full capacity and size, as if you were at a museum or seeing the subject IRL.
